ITINERANT CARPENTER

Speak the Iñupiaq language.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assume primary responsibility for the safe condition of flooring, doorframes, doors,
window frames, staircases, stair treads, wall paneling, ceiling paneling, hardware, and
similar structural elements in District-owned facilities.
Determine which repair jobs should be performed by staff and contractors and advise
the supervisor accordingly.
Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase.
Estimate costs of repair projects in terms of labor, material, and overhead.
Examine District facilities regularly for purposes of preventative maintenance.
Adhere to all District policies and regulations.
Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the supervisor may
assign.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift

vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to
adjust focus.
