Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Employment Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in employment law and litigation support. As an Employment Paralegal, you will be responsible for assisting attorneys in preparing legal documents, researching case law, and maintaining case files. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial in supporting our clients through various employment-related legal matters.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as complaints, motions, and subpoenas.
- Conduct legal research on employment law issues using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools.
- Organize and maintain case files, including electronic and hard copy documents.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and coordinate meetings.
- Prepare discovery requests and responses, including document production and interrogatories.
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts and other discovery materials.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders.
- Maintain attorney calendars, schedule appointments, and manage deadlines.
- Draft correspondence and communicate with opposing counsel and court personnel.
- Perform other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by attorneys.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal in employment law or related field.
- Proficiency in legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with electronic case management systems is preferred.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
