Position Title: Artisan Bread Baker
Reports to: Kitchen Manager, General Manager
Supervised by: Lead Baker
Job Summary
The Artisan Bread Baker is responsible for creating high-quality, handcrafted bread products and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves the entire bread-making process, from initial mixing to fermenting, proofing, and baking. The Artisan Bread Baker will work daily with various types of bread, including loaves, baguettes, and rolls, using traditional techniques and baking methods. This position requires a passion for bread making, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. As a key representative of Roux & Lucia, the Artisan Bread Baker will also assist customers, complete transactions at the point of sale, and package orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of bread products, including loaves, baguettes, and rolls.
- Perform all stages of bread production: mixing, fermenting, proofing, and baking.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, including stone hearth deck ovens and convection ovens.
- Ensure the highest quality standards are met for all products.
- Assist customers, provide excellent service, and act as a brand ambassador for Roux & Lucia.
- Complete transactions at the point of sale and package orders.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a bread baker or similar role.
- Knowledge of bread-making techniques and processes.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to handle a fast-paced environment.
