Job Summary
To manage the daily operations of their respective store which includes farm market and retail. Overseeing daily business operations. Developing and implementing growth strategies, managing budgets, improving revenue, evaluating performance and productivity, and researching and identifying growth opportunities.
Accountabilities
- Manage all store operations and delegate responsibilities
- Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure stocking, implement purchasing plans, and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting sales goals.
- Purchasing all ingredients and merchandise for the weekly operations within the retail and farm market store while maintaining accurate par sheets.
- Manage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability.
- Responsible for motivating team to reach store goals.
- Plan store layout and displays to simplify customer shopping and promote products
- Seek ways to better promote the store, the product line and service within the store.
- Monitoring and adjusting profit margins to follow company standards.
- Resolve customer problems and handle customer complaints.
- Collaborating with management team in creating and/or maintaining shift duty lists and cleaning lists.
- Recognizing new opportunities and meeting with upper management to discuss them.
- Collaborating with managers in designing and implementing training procedures, maintaining a full staff, working through daily staffing issues, and resolving staff conflicts.
- Conduct all performance reviews.
- Collaborate with HR with implementation of progressive disciplinary actions.
- Collaborate with HR in filling head count.
- Effectively delegate tasks to your management staff and checking to ensure completion.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure store cleanliness. Conduct inspections of the store for proper cleaning the night before and at shift change.
- Maintain a good working relationship and communication with their department manager(s), assistant manager(s), and staff.
- Control waste management. It is the responsibility of the store manager to limit the amount of waste the store is producing. This includes maintaining accurate pars for all items that we produce or package.
- Have excellent working knowledge of each department and ability to fill in when necessary.
- Be on the store floor 75% of the time to ensure customer relations and company vision of “Growing the best, making the best and living the best” is upheld.
- Obtain PASS Class A Operator certification as applicable to store location.
- Maintain Serve Safe Certification
- Any other task asked by management
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to work 50 hours each week, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- AA degree in Business Management, BS degree preferred
- Must have organizational leadership.
- Experience with employee relations
- Minimum 5 years of experience of managing in retail, customer service-based setting preferred
- SERV Safe certification preferred
