United Staffing Associates is partnered with a fast-paced medical office in North San Luis Obispo County in their search for a full-time Medical Assistant. As the Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting healthcare professionals, providing support to patients, and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures.
- Obtain patient vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and organization including sterilization of tools and equipment.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as administering injections, EKGs, and wound care.
- Assist with patient education and instruction on medication and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Communicate with pharmacies calling in patient prescriptions.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient inquiries.
- On occasion will cover other front office duties such as greeting patients, taking payments, insurance verification, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience or college coursework in a related field (Registered Medical Assistant certification preferred).
- Proficiency in medical terminology and basic medical procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Empathetic and compassionate attitude towards patients.
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Pay $22-$26/hr DOE
