Senior Formulation Chemist
Position Summary:
Reporting to the PC&C Product Manager, the focus of the role is to create innovative formulary and color concept development to enhance and support promotion and sales of our color and ingredient collection. The Chemist will work closely with marketing and sales teams to analyze trends in the cosmetic and personal care market as well as other influential sectors such as fashion, art, and design.
Critical Success Criteria:
- Innovative Formulary Development: To create novel formulary and color concepts that align with market trends and meet the needs of customers.
- Technical sales support and customer engagement. This involves not only providing timely responses to inquiries but also actively collaborating with customers, distributors, and sales teams to address their needs, present solutions, and support them in achieving desired effects with Access and Sandream products.
- To collaborate with cross-functional teams within the company and stay abreast of industry innovations.
Responsibilities
· Technical sales support, including but not limited to preparation of presentations and literature, presenting to customers virtually and/or in person, customer collaboration on special projects, setting up and attending trade shows and similar activities.
· Timely response to customer/distributor/ salesperson inquiries.
· Participation and creation of distributor/salesperson training sessions.
· Develop and coordinate with team members on new formulations, prototypes, custom blends, product evaluations, value added systems.
· Shade matching and color expertise to prototypes or individual pigments.
· Formulation support to customers on using the Sandream products in appropriate mediums to achieve desired effects.
· Offer compositional direction and/or alternative offset recommendations.
· Assistance with marketing activities including but not limited to newsletters, advertisements, and article submissions.
· Enrich R&D capabilities across a broad range of applications and collaborate with other groups in the company to grow our cosmetics & personal care business.
· QA testing to assist regulatory department.
· Regular meetings with vendors to research innovative ingredients and textures based on market trends.
Qualifications:
· BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related science. Business or Marketing minor is a plus.
· At least 3 years’ experience in the cosmetic industry is required.
· Strong expertise in developing new formulations and product concepts for color cosmetics and personal care industry. Some experience in nail lacquer and special effects is an advantage.
· Master of color and shade matching.
· Strong scientific and artistic sensibilities.
· Demonstrated ability to multitask.
· He/she must be an effective team player.
· Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
