Summary:
This position is responsible for improving the accuracy and productivity of all revenue cycle systems by assisting in facilitating, completing operations improvement projects, monitoring and improving quality of the patient account integrity. Under the direction of the Manager of Revenue Cycle the Revenue Cycle Quality Specialist will assist in data collection, data analysis, reporting, coordination of projects, assist in implementing processes, and communication of efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, organize and facilitate procedural training programs and continuing education for all employees within the revenue cycle. Design tests to assess employee knowledge, skills and also for annual competency compliance; maintain documentation of test results; report test results to management.
- Assists management in monitoring priority work queues, employee productivity and performance, authorization statistics and denial statistics as assigned.
- Identify problems and report trends; recommend training and education programs, process improvement programs and other program developments.
- Works with project managers and teams in implementations of new systems, system upgrades and enhancement of current system functionality, participating in any phase of large or small projects.
- Collaborate with appropriate internal and external staff members to conceptualize new procedures or programs.
- Demonstrates sound technical judgment and solid technical skills with ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Established and maintains positive peer, leadership and customer relationships, interacting positively and productively with teams across organizational lines.
- Works collaboratively with system users, technical staff, other IT groups and vendor support resources in problem solving issues related to Revenue Cycle systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
How You’ll Be Successful:
Work Experience
- Demonstrated leadership in teamwork, special projects and complex assignments. Required
- Expert knowledge of all revenue cycle functions related to their area of responsibility including insurance verification, insurance authorizations, patient portion calculation and collections, account documentation, etc Required
- At least 2 years job related experience Required
Education
- Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Epic Resolute Hospital Billing or Epic Professional Billing Certification or Epic Proficiency Exam Preferred
