The Diabetes Center of Houston (DCH) focuses primarily on patients with metabolic disorders, such as Type 1, Type 2, prediabetes, and insulin resistance.
Our physician-directed metabolic restoration program provides patient care with individualized care plans. This care plan is to restore, regenerate, and repair the damage caused by metabolic failure.
DCH understands diagnosing metabolic failure and treating metabolic disorders can be challenging. Our new, groundbreaking treatment provides physicians with the right tools to help patients gain their lives back.
Position
The Infusion Specialist inserts the IV, ensuring the patient receives the correct dosage of medication or fluid. During the IV process, the Infusion Specialist monitors the patient for any reactions and ensures the IV stays in place. The Infusion Specialist also documents the entire IV process as well as patient updates and success.
Duties & Responsibilities
o Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
o Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, brain scans, vascular testing, administering injections etc.) and fill in clients’ charts
o Adjust, administer, and provide treatments according to orders
o Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing chairs)
o Answer Email & phone calls
o Inventory management
o Other duties as assigned
o Performs other duties as assigned.
Professional Qualifications
o BLS Certification (Required)
o EMT Certification, Paramedic License, or LVN (Required)
o Exceptional in drawing blood and administering IV’s
o 2+ years’ experience as an LVN or EMT Paramedic

o Self-directed, able to work with limited direct supervision, but follow SOPs.

o Experience complying with state and federal regulations.

o Responsible for providing quality patient and customer services and identifying and recommending processes and procedures to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of activities and processes.
