CMD Dermatology, Laser & Aesthetics is seeking a part-time medical assistant to work at our boutique medical office in Back Bay, Boston. Candidate must have great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills; must have the ability to multi-task; and prior EHR experience is a plus. Prior dermatology or plastic surgery experience is preferred. We are a growing office, and there is opportunity for professional growth within our office.
Job Description
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician with patient care, including obtaining history, chief complaint, and consents; assisting with cosmetic procedures (including Botox, fillers, laser etc.); preparing exam rooms; escorting patients to room; preparing them for physician; and assisting in patient education regarding aftercare protocols and what to expect after treatment. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, EHR charting, stocking of rooms, turnover of rooms, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and performing general office duties. The Medical Assistant is responsible for reviewing and managing schedule to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately and supplies needed for procedure are available. Ensures all patient interactions are performed in a professional, accurate, and courteous manner.
Education and experience
· High school diploma required
· College degree (Associate or Bachelors) required
· Medical Assistant certification is preferred
· Prior medical office experience required
1-2 years of prior experience in a dermatology or cosmetic/surgical clinic setting working as a medical assistant or clinical assistant preferred

- Able to escort patients to exam room, perform EHR charting, stock rooms, turnover rooms, answer phones, and perform general office duties
Responsibilities
Patient check-in and greeting each patient in a pleasant and professional manner
Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments as needed
Enter and/or verify accuracy of patient demographic information
Collect payments (the office does not practice with insurance)
Prepare scheduling deposits as needed
Scan charts as needed
Check internal and email messages daily and respond to patients and staff
Answer office phones professionally and return voicemails
Assist patients with check-out process (ie: scheduling next appointment, accepting payment, reviewing aftercare instructions, etc)
Recommend skin care products and answer questions about various skincare products and procedures
Monitor inventory levels and notify staff when replenishment is needed
Maintain proper office opening and closing procedures
Assist in general office duties as needed
Escort patients to exam rooms and assist physician in obtaining informed consent for various procedures
Follow company policy on all HIPAA procedures/protocols

Follow and respect employee policies
Report to work in a timely manner and maintain good attendance
Job type: Part-time. The office is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. No weekends.
Compensation: based on level of experience.
