Part-Time /Full-Time Therapist Position (minimun 20 hours/week)
This clinical position is in the City of District Heights Family and Youth Services Bureau (YSB). The Family and Youth Services Bureau is a small community-based mental health and outreach agency that provides individual, family and group counseling to children and families. We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable clinician with a can do/team-player attitude who is dynamic, organized, and clinically sound. This clinician reports to the Executive Director and is responsible in providing direct clinical services.
Responsibilities Include:
· Provide therapy to children, youth and families including case management and information
and referrals.
- Conduct a minimum of four groups per year.
- Maintain case records and administrative paperwork in compliance with the Bureau’s and COMAR requirements.
- Answer the phone and provide callers or walk-ins with referral information as needed.
- Attend community events to promote the YSB, involving four Saturdays a year.
- Must be able to work a minimum of two to three evenings a week.
- Must routinely and consistently write grants and research grant opportunities
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a clinical discipline such as Counseling or Social Work required.
- Maryland Professional License or license eligible (LCPC, LGPC, LCSW, LGSW).
Candidate must obtain licensure within one years of employment.
- One or more years of experience providing direct clinical services to children, adolescents, and adults.
Desirable:
- Experience working with families in a clinical setting.
- Experience treating victims of trauma and/or abuse and neglect.
- Training and experience in Child Centered Play Therapy.
- Training and experience in Brief Strategic Family Therapy or other family therapy model.
Compensation:
