Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Informatics Developer to join our team with a keen interest in leading the development and maintenance of scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based solutions for public health. In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to automate data transfer, analysis, and visualization, while establishing best practices in data security and management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based applications and services for public health
- Drive the integration of cloud services with on-premises systems and third-party applications
- Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the quality and functionality of cloud applications
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, processes, and best practices
- Automate processes to improve system stability, quality of service and reduce costs
- Advise, mentor and supervise junior developers and foster an environment of collaboration, innovation, and excellence across the team
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing and informatics technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization
- Perform any other tasks as required to support the objectives of the team and organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related computational field
- Experience of cloud platform development, with a deep understanding of one cloud platform
- Demonstrated ability to program in at least one statically typed language
- Demonstrated ability to program in at least one dynamically typed language to an advanced level
- Extensive experience with Linux system administration
- Demonstrated ability to architect and implement cloud-native development and deployment practices
- Expertise in implementing security best practices in cloud environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Experience of working with BigData and/or knowledge of biology is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
