**Job Overview:**
Join our team at CatchMark Technologies, a Managed IT Services Provider dedicated to solving technical and business challenges for our clients. We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Support Manager to oversee our support operations and ensure the smooth functioning of our clients' IT environments.
**Duties:**
- Provide leadership and guidance to the support team in resolving escalated technical issues efficiently.
- Diagnose and address complex hardware, software, and network problems to maintain optimal system performance.
- Implement permanent solutions and preventive measures to mitigate recurring IT issues effectively.
- Manage and optimize client networks, servers, firewalls, and other critical infrastructure components.
- Ensure data security and compliance through regular assessments, vulnerability scans, and backup solutions.
- Lead IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and installations by developing project plans and coordinating with internal teams.
- Act as a technical advisor to clients, offering recommendations for IT enhancements and providing training as necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation of client environments, incidents, and support activities for reporting purposes.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT support with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior technical role.
- Proficiency in GPO, Firewall configurations, TCP/IP protocols, Help desk operations, LAN management, and Active Directory administration.
- Strong knowledge of IT security principles including intrusion detection/prevention systems and endpoint protection.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a knack for troubleshooting complex issues efficiently.
- Exceptional communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE are highly desirable.
**Working Conditions:**
- Full-time position based in Grand Rapids, MI or Whitehall, MI.
- Occasional travel to client sites may be required.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
