Job Title: Development Coordinator

Casa San Jose is a nonprofit organization that serves as a resource center for Latinx in the
Allegheny County area by connecting them to various social services and by providing programming as needed. Programs at Casa San Jose aim to decrease social isolation and increase empowerment by offering opportunities for community members (youth and adults) to brainstorm about solving community problems and facilitate involvement in civic and community organizations.
Position Summary: The Development Coordinator is responsible for administering Casa San Jose's fundraising efforts. This role involves researching potential donors, assisting with grant applications, coordinating fundraising events, and maintaining donor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the organization’s mission, along with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Communications Specialist and BOD Development Coordinator to develop and distribute materials for solicitations and/or marketing
a) Giving Tuesday
b) Christmas Appeal and Year End Gifts
c) Annual Report
d) United Way donor choice postcard
- Oversee all aspects of any fundraising campaigns
- Track and analyze campaign performance.
Donor Relations:
- Process mail and record donations in Salesforce CRM
- Update donor database as needed
- Acknowledge and thank donors in a timely manner (48-72 hours).
- Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and potential donors.
Event Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate annual fundraising event: Fiesta del Sol
- Manage event logistics, including venue, catering, and volunteers.
- Promote event through various channels with Communications Specialist
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the executive director, and other departments to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with finances on a mutual process for tracking gifts
- Collaborate with finances to develop revenue budget goals for the fiscal year.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications to enhance fundraising initiatives.
Grant Writing and Management:
- Work with Casa San Jose’s current contract grant writer to:
- Identify potential grant opportunities.
- Help with preparation and submission of grant applications and reports
- Monitor grant compliance and reporting requirements.
- Meet with Development Coordinator from the Board of Directors
Qualifications:
● Passion for the mission and values of the organization.
● Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
● Minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or a related area.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong organizational and project management abilities.
● Proficiency in fundraising software and donor management systems or ability to learn
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience in planning and executing large-scale fundraising events.
● Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practices.
● Preferred bilingual fluency, English/Spanish – Spanish/English

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, fax machines, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
