Job Summary
Responsible for scheduling patient appointments, answering general questions, maintaining patient records, and communicating with Referring Providers and other medical professionals. Provides quality customer service in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner, serving as the initial contact for patients contacting scheduling.
Essential Job Functions

Properly schedule patients for diagnostic imaging procedures for multiple imaging centers and maintain the imaging schedule.

Fill cancellations and openings in the schedule daily as needed and reschedule patients based on their medical and/or financial needs.

Ensure accurate and detailed information in patient charts, including demographics of patients and Referring Providers into the RIS.

Confirm with Referring Provider the specifics of the orders, diagnosis, and any information needed for authorization.

Process all documents received in the central Scheduling Department via fax, email, and phone.

Answer multiple phone lines in a courteous and timely manner, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and voice clarity.

Provide the utmost professional interaction and communication with and between the patient/family, center staff, Referring Providers/staff, and radiologists.

Maintain a neat and organized work area.

Participate in meetings and complete other tasks as assigned by management.
Educational and Skills Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year of customer service-related work in the medical field.

Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic radiological procedures in an outpatient setting.

Proficient in the use of office computer systems including Microsoft Office and RIS.

Ability to multi-task and remain detailed and organized.

Ability to communicate and respond to questions, assisting patients, Referring Providers, and clinical staff in a professional manner.

Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

Ability to hold all information concerning patients in strict confidence and abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.

The work is performed in a medical office setting with moderate noise level.
