Peoples Development Services is a dynamic local community organization that is constantly growing and looking for an individual who is looking for a long-term career with growth opportunities. We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and experienced individual to join our growing Behavioral Health team. The Therapist will be responsible for providing therapy services to clients in a individual setting. The ideal candidate will be a clinical trainee working on their board license therapist who is passionate about working with families, adults with disabilites and seniors. We are seeking candidates who are passionate, self-motivated, and committed about learning and sharing their clinical skills. Candidates should have experience working with a dynamic team in order to provide mental health services to individuals and their families. Preferred applicants thrive working in a semi-autonomous work environment require flexibility and organizational skills.
Job Duites/Responsibilities:
- Provides high quality, cost effective mental health· assessment and treatment for individuals, families, couples, and groups.
- Conducts diagnostic assessments and develops an optimal plan of care to accomplish established patient goals.
- Treatment services provided can include but are not limited to individual psychotherapy, group therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and crisis intervention services to patients presenting with primary behavioral health problems.
- Maintains records and reports documenting all contacts with patients in accordance with departmental and professional standards under the review of the immediate clinical supervisor.
- Participates in a minimum of 1 hour of individual clinical supervision per week with identified supervisor and an additional hour of either individual or group supervision as determined by the supervisor to meet board supervision requirements.
- Provides coordination and continuity of care when multiple modalities of behavioral and/or medical health care are required by patients, or when multiple providers are involved in the patient's care.
- Coordinates care with medical personnel and with outside professionals, agencies, and institutions as needed to ensure that patients receive high-quality integrated behavioral healthcare.
- Performs patient follow-up including returning phone calls and patient messages, patient letters, and miscellaneous paperwork (e.g., disability forms, county benefit forms, forms for qualification for disability & employment services, etc.).
- Participates in training, clinical supervision and mentorship with other behavioral health staff.
- Actively manages caseload in order to meet individual and team productivity goals. Be responsive to the needs of the patient population.
- Follow and comply with all requirements of the MN Board of Social and NASW Code Ethics expectations and other Behavioral Health Board Professinal Requirement.
- 10. Complies with all directions given by the clinical supervisor(s) and administrative leader(s) regarding direct patient care and employment expectations.
- 11. Performs special projects and tasks, as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Required:
- Qualified Clinical Trainee actively pursuing licensure in MN in one of the following: LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, LP.
- Master’s degree from an accredited school of Behavioral Health
- Master’s degree in child development or related field
- Current state license as a clinical or therapy assistant (LCSW, LPC, LCSW-R)
- Minimum of two years experience working with families, adults or seniors
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment
- Ability to adapt to change and grow with the company
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple clients at one time
- Knowledge of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN area is preferred but not required
