Role Description
Ethos Organizing is seeking canvassers to participate in the organization’s direct voter contact program. As a canvasser, you will go door to door in the community to talk to voters. If you’re fired up and ready to organize in your community, we urge you to apply! The work location for this position will be: Cincinnati, OH.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must have the physical stamina to stand/walk for long periods (up to 6 hours per day) while meeting and talking to people
- Comfortable with, knowledgeable of, and enthusiastic about discussing topics related to progressive politics, advocacy, and public policy
- Understand how to use a cell-phone to track and submit data
- Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends
- Ability to memorize and recite scripts and statements prepared and provided by Ethos Organizing
- Consistently meet daily and weekly goals
- Must be willing to work at least 3 7-hour shifts per week
- There is no formal education requirement for this position
- Previous experience in canvassing, door to door sales, fundraising, census outreach work, retail, marketing, or telemarketing are all encouraged to apply!
Compensation
This is an hourly position with Ethos Organizing, with an hourly rate of $22.
