Job Summary:
The Delivery Specialist is an urgent hire need. This position provides protected transportation of finished product to specified clients via the Company Transportation Vehicle, while abiding by state rules and regulations regarding the transportation of medical cannabis.
Essential Functions:
- All deliveries will take place during business hours, Monday through Friday, with the occasional delivery taking place during extended business hours (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM). Hours vary.
- Communicating regularly with the Logistics Supervisor/Manager regarding shipments, delivery schedules, delivery routes, and client locations.
- Maintaining full compliance with local, state, and federal licensing requirements, and remaining familiar with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assisting in transporting and loading ready-to-ship, product-filled boxes/containers into the Transportation Vehicle.
- Reviewing the Shipping Manifest and Sales Order to ensure all product is present, and the actual quantity is accurate to what has been ordered.
- Review and confirm the Shipping Manifest with the Logistics Supervisor/Manager to ensure the Shipping Route and Departure/Arrival times are correct and viable.
- Traveling between the Company facility and client Dispensaries while following step-by-step driving instructions listed on the Shipping Manifest.
- Communicating with the client Dispensaries in advance to ensure all necessary employees are aware and present for the delivery.
- Reviewing the Shipping Manifest and Invoice with the client dispensary to ensure the shipment is accurate and matches the Sales Order/Invoice.
- Communicating with the Logistics Supervisor/Manager in the event of a Recall or Shipment Return/Denial, or other issues should they come up.
- In the event of a Shipment Return/Denial, confirming the new Shipping Manifest that explains the Product that is being Returned/Denied, and transporting the correct quantities back to the Company facility.
- Pack and transport appropriate product in temperature-controlled containers and maintain transport-appropriate temperatures in the delivery vehicle.
- Transport cash or check securely in the provided safe/lockbox and account for all monies with the Security Manager and/or CEO.
- Monitoring and maintaining the maintenance on the Company Transportation Vehicle including fuel levels, oil levels, mileage, etc., and informing the Logistics Supervisor/Manager in the event maintenance is required.
- Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Qualifications Include:
- Driving Qualifications – Valid Driver’s License required; MUST have a clean driving record (5+ years); reviewed regularly.
- Education and/or Experience - High School Diploma or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate required. One to two years related experience in a distribution and/or shipping/receiving environment preferred. Non-CDL box truck or city van experience preferred.
- Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret delivery manifest documentation, Sales Orders, Invoices, and basic tracking logs/sheets. Ability to effectively present information to management and/or peers. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisors, staff, vendors, etc.
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply basic concepts and computing skills as it applies to inventory, delivery amounts, weights/counts, and invoicing.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to work on their feet, and be comfortable walking, crouching, and standing for long periods of time, or in an office setting sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen for long periods of time. The individual will occasionally be required to lean over racks and lift 20 lbs above head. Manual labor may be required through transporting 27-38-gallon bins of plant material over metal transport carts (internal), manually assembling shipping boxes for finished product (filled and labelled jars), transporting finished/ready-to-ship product into the Secure Vaults using metal transport carts (internal), and transporting the filled boxes into the Transportation Vehicle (internal). The individual must be able to physically carry out deliveries according to the set delivery route and schedule (external) and be capable of driving long distances for long periods of time. The individual will be driving over very specific routes to and from multiple locations (per delivery) on busy roads. The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and make adjustments as necessary.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the individual will be occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts of machinery (internal). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high (loud), depending on whether the individual is in-house or on the road. The individual frequently works in a controlled climate with cold to warm temperatures and lower than average humidity. The individual may be walking, standing, leaning, and crouching throughout the workday on concrete flooring. The individual will occasionally be exposed to plant waste, high amounts of water and general humidity, and bright LED lights (internal). Sufficient PPE will be provided by the Company such as: LED protective eye wear, waterproof aprons & gloves, non-latex gloves, Tyvek suits, face masks/respirators, gas masks, hair nets, beard nets, hypoallergenic & unscented soap, and general uniforms fit for the climate the individual will be exposed to most often. The individual will be exposed to the outside elements and uncontrolled, state/federally regulated driving conditions for long periods of time.
Stipulation of employment is passing an OHIO BCI and FBI background check in accordance with ORC/OAC 3796.
Employees are not allowed to work on the premises until the badge is activated in the Ohio Department of Medical Marijuana e-Licensing portal.
