Title IX Deputy Coordinator
Role Mission: The Title IX Deputy Coordinator will serve as the delegate to the Title IX Coordinator in processes, allowing greater efficiency and oversight as needed. The Deputy Coordinator will play an integral role in ensuring IDEA’s compliance to Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This role will assist with Implementing training and providing guidance pertaining to sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, and harassment prevention. The Deputy Coordinator will serve as the delegate to the Title IX coordinator in processes, allowing greater efficiency and oversight as needed. The Deputy Coordinator will build and maintain close relationships with campus, district, and department leadership to implement supportive measures and ensure IDEA’s compliance with Title IX.
Location:
This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.
What You’ll Do - Accountabilities
Essential Duties:

Develop a deep and comprehensive knowledge of the federal Title IX regulations
- Monitor developments in law, policy, and practice related to title ix and sexual misconduct

Investigate employee and student allegations of sexual misconduct as needed
- Monitor developments in law, policy, and practice related to Title IX and sexual misconduct for students and employees.
- Assist with IDEA’s overall compliance with Title IX in all areas by the implementing regulations; specifically in the areas of bullying, sexual harassment, child abuse, and discrimination
- Coordinate a routine mechanism with regional leadership to ensure Title IX obligations are being met

Implement and maintain the district sexual harassment policy, this includes annual review with revisions in existing policies.

Assist campus leaders in complying with Title IX through monitoring and evaluating practices and making recommendations for any appropriate changes.

Maintain and uphold the Title IX grievance protocols and procedures for students, parents, and employees.
- Oversee, coordinate and ensure investigations of reports and complaints are adequate, reliable, timely confidential and impartial.

Provide prompt resolutions to complaints as they occur
- Work with HR’s own Title IX team to ensure alignment in legal interpretation and approach

Analyze and monitor trends in Title IX cases and compliance to recommend training opportunities, areas of improvement in specific regions.
- Manage and champion Title IX compliance and high-quality communication, processes, and alignment to IDEA's priorities

Support Title IX Coordinator, In House General Counsel, and Superintendent/CEO with reports to stakeholders, include Board of Directors on Title IX compliance and process

Oversee and recommend areas of improvements and training opportunities to further IDEA’s compliance

What You Bring - Competencies:
Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree required
-
Experience: 1-3 years similar or relatable experience implementation Title IX policies and procedures preferred; experience in education, human resources, or a regulatory compliance setting
- Experience investigating, adjudicating and resolving allegations of discrimination, harassment sexual misconduct/sexual violence or in administering and coordinating a comprehensive program addressing Title IX compliance
- Prior Title IX training and certifications strongly desired
Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, public policy, human resources, legal studies, or a closely related field or a Juris Doctorate preferred.

Knowledge of federal and state public safety reporting requirements and other applicable crime data reporting.

Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

Knowledge of current and emerging legislation, issues, and trends as appropriate to the position.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the university.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $74,700 and $87,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
