SUMMARY
The School Nutrition Coordinator (SNC) is responsible for maintaining all critical documentation records and inputting information from records into the point of sale, POS, and shared spreadsheets. The SNC will assist the regional SNC with inventory data, inputting items into the database, and reconciling it monthly. A nutrition services coordinator is a professional responsible for managing and coordinating various aspects of nutrition services within the organization. Their primary role is to ensure that individuals or groups access proper nutrition and dietary support. The SNC is vital in promoting healthy eating habits and ensuring individuals or communities access adequate nutrition. They combine their organizational and coordination skills to deliver effective and impactful nutrition programs and services.

Vendor Orders
- Assist the Lead School Nutrition Coordinator with placing orders, adjusting orders to meet site needs, canceling, and updating orders.
- Perform due diligence when receiving and entering important documentation into shared spreadsheets/folders.
Records
- Receiving and creating spreadsheets and documents of data received from teachers, student services coordinators (SSC), and administrative staff, including but not limited to attendance logs, meal applications, and inventory sheets.
- Perform due diligence when receiving and entering important documentation into shared spreadsheets/folders.
- Cross-checking information between shared spreadsheets/folders within CDE guidelines and Aeries (SIS system) and Titan (POS system).
- Prepare reports related to food services and school food nutrition activities.
- Update documentation received from the CDE and consultants, including, but not limited to, meal applications, household letters, and all policies and procedures.
- Obtain new environmental health permits when needed and ensure all sites have two inspections per school year.
- Maintaining all current health permits and ensuring all permits are valid and up to date for all sites.
- Assist in creating monthly menus following the meal pattern requirements of the USDA, the National School Lunch Program, and the CDE Nutrition Services Division
Site
- Ensure all proper documentation is posted and visible to students, staff, and health inspectors.
- Facilitate preparing the school site for initial health inspections, including but not limited to hot water, vermin-free, and fully stocked with necessary paper products.
- Monitor food usage to ensure adequate supply.
- When needed, assist with stocking vending machines, refrigerators, and shelves at school sites using the first-in-first-out (FIFO) method.
- Assist the Regional Nutrition Coordinator and troubleshoot the vending machine after stocking to verify functionality.
Titan
- Assist the Lead School Nutrition Coordinator with the point of sale system, Titan, and the website, including but not limited to entering meals, adjusting meal totals, and updating site information.
- Analyze meal applications within one week of receipt to determine student eligibility status.
- Running reports from the system to verify the information is complete and accurate.
- Adhere to system cues for updating, transferring, or voiding out student information/meals.
Professional Development
- Including, but not limited to, maintaining clean and sanitized equipment, work area, and vehicle.
- Providing training and support for automated food and nutrition services systems.
- Providing quality assurance by monitoring food items for taste, smell, and appearance, designing questionnaires, and conducting student taste tests.
- Assisting in planning meals meeting USDA recommended nutritional requirements within
established budgetary constraints.
- Record temperatures before and after delivery to satellite sites when needed.
Other Duties
- Assist the Lead School Nutrition Coordinator with inventory control of meals for all sites.
- Food orders are within the allowable categories.
- Maintain compliance with regulations for contracts. Monitor to ensure established sanitation, safety, and food preparation standards are properly adhered to at each facility.
- Prepare nutrition education lessons as part of grant requirements for students.
- Adheres to local, state, and federal regulations to keep all student information confidential except as required by legal order.
- Coordinate with SSC and teachers to ensure all appropriate data is accurate and available for extraction.
- Attends Professional Development and Training Sessions with the Nutrition Services Manager and other members of the Home Office.
- Provide support and training for school staff to ensure smooth operations and processes when collecting and reporting on student information.
- Prepares regular and special compliance reports and data audits for the management team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Minimum two years of work experience, at least one (1) of which is data entry or a year of work directly related to a computer system that requires knowledge of editing and completing source data or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of three years of experience in K-12 education is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must have a valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to travel as needed/required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, reports, etc.
