Position Summary: Material Handler/Truck Loaders are responsible for loading boxes into trucks and containers for different shipping carriers. This position is physical and fast paced that involves continual grasping, lifting and moving of boxes.
Qualifications Required:
- Must complete a forklift safety training and all forklift operations within 90 days of assuming the position.
- Six months previous Material Handler and warehouse experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work with little supervision.
- Must be able to lift and move products up to 70 pounds.
- Must be able to operate forklifts and hand jacks.
- Basic computer proficiency
- Basic math skills to calculate accurate work times, quantities and counts.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Performs receiving functions, unloads trailers, verifies freight bills, identifies and counts inventory, palletizes cartons, and completes documentation and puts inventory into the storage area.
- Processes inventory for distribution to the stores.
- Ensure to follow all safety guidelines while operating variety of different forklifts (gas and electric) and hand-jacks
- Handles dock plate.
- Handles chemical products with HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) and OSHA requirements.
- Maintain work area, organized and orderly, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Gripping/Grasping - must be able to grip and grasp boxes when loading trucks for the entirety of their assigned shift.
- Lifting - Employee may be required to lift weights up to 35 pounds above shoulder level. In the event a load weighs more than 50 pounds, team members are required to seek assistance from another team member before lifting and use proper lifting techniques. (approx. 75% of the shift);
- Pivoting - Employees must be able to pivot on feet while pulling boxes from conveyor and loading into trailer. (approx. 80% of the shift);
- Push/Pulling – Material Handlers must be able to push/pull a hand jack weighing 500 pounds.
- Reaching - reach up to heights of 84 inches to load boxes (approx. 95% of the shift);
- Stand/Walking – While performing the duties of this job, the employee will stand and/or walk for approximately 100% of the work shift.
- Work Environment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving machinery. Conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting and grasping of boxes up to 35lbs. Fast paced. Noise level is minimal to moderate. Steel-toed or composite toed shoes are required.
