Position responsibilities
- Exemplify Bar Louie’s Mission, Vision and Values in the way you approach your shift each day.
- Demonstrate a maniacal commitment to cleanliness, sanitation and safety.
- Learn the menu Top to Bottom and Inside and out so that you can seamlessly infuse your style as you answer questions; describe and recommend items; and help our guests find new and old favorites.
- Greet every guest ensuring that they feel genuinely welcomed.
- Assist every guest in finding a place to spend time; ordering food To Go; or looking at our menu.
- Answer the phone professionally and with warmth. Accurately share information; take messages and ensure our guests get the information they are looking for.
- Always practice responsible alcohol service. Involve your Manager as needed.
- Support your peers by running food and drinks; bussing and sanitizing tables; and completing side work.
- Quickly complete opening and closing duties each shift ensuring you and your peers are set for success.
- Follow all policies and processes communicated by your Manager or the Company.
- Provide accurate availability; check schedule regularly and have consistent attendance.
· Greet all guests with a smile on your face and welcoming response “Welcome to Bar Louie! How many in your party today? Are you looking for a low top or high top? Inside or outside? Do you have a previous reservation scheduled?” Other duties for the host:
· Helping bus tables when needed. However, this is not your job. If servers are actively not bussing table please let a manager know.
· Communicating with the serving team about what tables are available and if they could be sat.
· Cleaning the windows of the foyer and the patio, sweeping the foyer, spot sleeping around the bar.
· When you are not busy; ensuring that the exterior entrance to the bar looks good and the windows are clean, ensuring there’s no dust, dirt, or cigarette butts in the planters.
· Watering the plants during the summer is part of the job if they need it.
· When answering the phone and someone asks for a reservation, ask “How many in their party? What day of the week? What time would they like to come in?”
· When returning a phone call for reservations, please leave a message to let them know we will give them five minutes to return our phone call in order to be sat.
