As a Human Resources Manager with Southern States Toyotalift : Contribute to making Southern States Material Handling a leader in the material handling industry by overseeing the completion of all administrative activities, rules and regulations, and adherence to all compliance matters related to the Human Resources and Safety functions for Southern States Material Handling. What we’re looking for:
- 10 + years in progressively challenging Human Resources roles
- Demonstratable experience creating and building HR policy, procedures, forms, and processes.
- Proven in-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices/principles ensuring company compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Demonstratable ability using data analysis skills to collect, analyze, and present HR metrics to inform decision-making.
- Proven ability to provide a structured, organized, yet flexible work environment for HR staff.
- Proven experience leading an HR function or department.
- Supported ability to architect strategy along with providing tactile leadership skills.
- Proven history of maintaining confidentiality and overseeing sensitive information with discretion.
- Previous experience promoting a culture of open communication and teamwork.
- Experience in running or overseeing ADP a plus.
- Experience in providing associate feedback and coaching related to HR topics.
- Previous experience in material handling, construction, manufacturing, light industry, or similar environment preferred.
- Experience working with multiple HR systems and databases.
- Previous experience with physical and electronic records management
- Must be able to speak and understand the English language
Education and Certification Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field (master’s degree a plus).
- PHR or SPHR certification a must
What you’ll Do:
HR Leadership:
- Design, develop, implement, and assess company HR policies and procedures with attention to process improvement, communication clarity, and organizational structure.
- Assist in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy.
- Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives.
- Responsible for assisting to develop HR topic training programs.
- Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR department operations to adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
- Support HR decision making by utilizing HR metrics and analyzing trends in data.
- Assists VP of HR in creating an environment of learning, development, support & guidance within the HR staff and making personnel decisions.
- Guide Safety Manager in developing a Safety Program including building a safety committee, a safety rewards and recognition program, and a safety accountability program.
- Collaborates with leadership to design and implement retention and engagement strategies.
HR Compliance Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist VP of HR in the development, review, and auditing of handbooks, policies, procedures, company rules and regulations to ensure legal compliance.
- Responsible for gathering metrics and data to support JSOX compliance and EEO1 delivery.
- Assist VP of HR in maintaining and implementing all corporate Toyota Industries North America (TINA) and Toyota Material Handling (TMH) compliance and reporting initiatives.
- Lead Safety Manager in developing risk management strategies to promote all safety compliance and promote a safe work culture.
- Oversees, guides, and directs the Safety Department ensuring compliance with all OSHA and company safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for staying up to date and understanding changing laws and regulations to develop policies and procedures.
- Ensures Federal, State, and local compliance regarding record keeping and personnel matters.
- Responsible for job description audits to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular compliance audits to evaluate internal policies and procedures and ensure best practices are being followed.
Associate Experience Responsibilities:
- Coaches’ managers regarding personnel actions, development, and discipline, resolving associate concerns in a fair, impartial, consistent, and confidential manner.
- Oversee and manage associate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires and departing associates.
- Nurture a positive and productive work environment in which associates treat each other with respect and professionalism.
- Help in creating a company culture that emphasizes quality, continual improvement, teamwork, high performance, and engages staff and encourages them to stay at the organization long-term.
- Assist in developing programs and workforce planning that attract and retain top talent, consistent with current market demand, pay, and trends.
- Investigates and address associate issues and conflicts by de-escalating tension, ensuring that all parties have a chance to voice their concerns, required documentation is obtained, all parties are working collaboratively toward resolution and corrective actions are implemented when appropriate.
- Assist VP of HR to build associate recognition program and improve associate engagement strategies and opportunities.
- Assist Payroll & Benefits Manager in positively communicating benefits programs and company initiatives to associate population.
HR Processing Responsibilities:
- Assist VP of HR in developing job specifications and job competencies to promote consistency and understanding of job responsibilities.
- Assist VP of HR in developing, implementing, and managing a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Reconcile and manage all HR Corporate Invoices
- Design, develop, implement, and assess company HR policies and procedures with attention to process improvement,
- Assist Payroll & benefits Manager in developing compensation strategies for all associates based on market research and pay surveys to maintain internal equity.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Maintains HR systems and processes.
- In conjunction with Toyota Industries North America, assist VP of HR in overseeing company benefits strategy.
- Assists Payroll & Benefits Manager administer FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation programs, ensuring compliance with all state laws and regulations.
- Directs and oversees the company wellness program.
- Exercises independent judgment in the performance of other general duties not associated with the personnel function.
- Any other duties assigned to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.
- Mon-Fri 8am – 5pm.
- Travel- Up to 15%
