Hyatt seeks an enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our Culinary Team. In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the broader Corporate HR-Facilities & Culinary team, where you’ll be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company. The Role
- The Sous Chef supports the creative direction of the food and beverage experience for the corporate office, overseeing all experiential aspects and through true care and hospitality towards all guests, owners, and colleagues. This position is accountable for the daily direction of all F&B in the absence of the Executive Chef.
- This is a high-profile position given that it services all internal colleagues, senior executives, ExCom, and high-level events such as the BOD meetings and other high-profile business meetings. Further expectations include leveraging food to impact company directives such as well-being, creating connections, and DE&I Initiatives such as Change Starts Here.
- The position encompasses the accountabilities of the direction of production, front-of-the-house supervisor, assisting with procurement for F&B, and event planning management. The role requires creative menu development, sourcing of food and operating supplies, and strategic product specification development for global operations (R&D Testing).
- Development of the culinary services team and staffing is expected along with budget management of food and labor costs, ongoing quality assurance, and policy and process implementation. Cross-departmental and business relationships are key to the role, including developing partnerships with the corporate executive assistant team and external vendors.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Be engaged in the culinary development process from product creation through implementation, creating and executing WELL Certified menus for the Hyatt Hub Café
- Produce, Present & Execute Events for the Executive Leadership Team as needed including Board of Director Events
- Kitchen Sanitation and Cleanliness-Reporting issues as they arise
- Observe all outside Food & Beverage vendors regarding service performance, quality, and sanitation
- Assist with communication for F&B within the office
- Procure F&B Supplies for use within the office space within budget
- Drive & Coordinate Events for the office with internal and external vendors
- Assist with leading contracted colleagues
- Finance task related to managing Colleague café to ensure accurate budgeting
- Assist with the development and execution of successful culinary events in support of our Global Philanthropy, Human Resources, & Diversity Business Resource Groups
- Support cross-divisional relationships supporting Food and beverage company-wide rollouts in Select and Full Service teams (Americas)
