You will be responsible for ensuring the company's financial health, providing insightful analysis, and making sound decisions. A deep understanding of GAAP and risk management will be invaluable in this position.
As the Controller, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust accounting processes that support our growth and M&A activities. You will work closely with the team to identify areas for process improvement and contribute to creating a more efficient and effective organization. This role requires a strategic thinker who can connect financial data to the overall business strategy and enjoys collaborating with others to achieve shared goals.
Here are the abilities we seek out:
- Develop internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration and other activities.
- Establish a standard costing system with monthly variance reporting.
- Coordinate and direct budgeting, procurement, investment activities and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
- Establish and maintain financial controls, prepare and present financial reports and risk analysis.
- Lead the company's annual accounting audit.
- Create budgets and forecasts and be responsible for the Company's general ledger.
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Provide support to management, particularly in commercial and financial matters.
- Create reports that help senior leadership understand the Company financials.
- Close month-end financial statements, including review and preparation of general ledger entries.
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger management, internal controls, external audits, account reconciliations and cash management.
- Prepare financial reporting, including for the board of directors and the company's lender.
- Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts and review reconciliations.
- Assist with pricing changes and margin determinations for products and services.
- Provide detailed fluctuation analysis on the P/L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
- Utilize financial analysis tools to evaluate company objectives and provide forecasting/budgeting support.
- Serve as a reliable source of analytical and financial thought leadership to the Company's owners and executive team.
- Manage key external relationships, including the Company's bank and certain vendors/customers.

What You Offer
Responsibilities:
- Support the HR function of the Company
- Operational administration
- Actively support the sales tax collection and remittance process
- Support management and ownership in evaluating and monitoring add on M&A opportunities and then participating in the post-merger integration process
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly KPI reporting
- Board material preparation
Educational Requirement and Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience
- Public accounting, CPA preferred
- Strong financial acumen, GAAP expertise and analysis and highly proficient in accounting procedures and best practices
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional team environment while building credibility with senior management and ownership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinker with proven ability to work independently under tight deadlines while juggling multiple priorities
- Well-organized
- Understanding of applicable laws and regulations
- Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to provide support
