The Product Information Specialist will be accountable for maintaining and monitoring core product data within Imperial Distributors PIM environment to ensure data is complete, accurate, and updated in a timely manner. Moreover, they will be responsible for the connection between products in the PIM and all digital mediums.
The ideal candidate will work with, and across, various people, teams, processes, and technologies to guide the organization through digital product transformation. The candidate has a good understanding of how the business operates and can confidently communicate updates/changes/suggestions.
This position interacts cross-functionally with Category Management, IT, Marketing, and E-Commerce divisions and will provide support within the administration of the PIM database.
Responsibilities Include:
- Leading our product master data and related processes. Your primary objective is to maintain an accurate product catalog (pricing, copy, imagery, meta data, etc.) You will influence decisions on products, copy & visual content based on business needs and data insights. You will need an understanding of the distribution arena and be able to keep a pulse on what is happening in our customer space and the requirements of our industry, and help inform decisions on the addition of new products and customer requirements.
- Planning the strategy for data acquisition and maintenance of product information and digital assets.
- Partnering with key stakeholders on the implementation, configuration, and roll out of Imperial Distributors PIM
- Manage data integration efforts between the PIM platform and multiple inbound/outbound sources, including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Leading the creation of workflows, data governance, user permissions, mandatory fields, and other PIM settings (with guidance)
- Configure taxonomy, category structure and product attributes by category in the PIM to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
- Monitoring and maintaining PIM/ Product Account Management integrity by executing data refreshes across multiple platforms
- Collaborating with the PIM provider on establishing and executing a long-term operational plan and KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) and identify/evaluate opportunities to take advantage of new product features and services
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years in experience Product Information Management (PIM)
- Ability to communicate effectively with partners at all levels, especially senior leadership
- Ability to act as a flexible and innovative team player with a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and a hands-on approach
- Ability to manage time effectively and set and execute clear objectives and priorities
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with CRM systems a plus
- Proficiency with ERP systems a plus
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent related warehouse management experience
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
