Job Description:
Arlington Animal Hospital has been in the community since 1963. It is under new ownership and management as of January 2020.
Arlington Animal Hospital is a privately owned, single doctor veterinary clinic, equipped with in house lab, digital radiographs, and ultrasound. The clinic performs surgeries, dentals, routine care and urgent care appointments.
We are seeking a hard-working candidate. The ideal candidate would have 1 or more year(s) of Veterinary Technician experience, have a basic knowledge of vaccine protocols, be skilled in phlebotomy, anesthesia, and dental and surgical procedures, be computer literate, and be able to type.

Key Responsibilities:
- Professional client communication
- Detailed and accurate record-keeping
- Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, urinalysis, blood chemistry, cytology (skin, ears), and fecal flotation
- Diagnostic imaging
- Surgical assisting; preparing and maintaining the surgical environment
- Anesthesia monitoring and endotracheal intubation
- Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications, providing high quality physical and psychological needs of the patient during any visit
- Dental prophylaxis and radiographs
- Pharmacy and pharmacology knowledge including: preparing and dispensing medications
- Patient check in, vitals, exam assistance and discharge of patients
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of Veterinary Technician experience
- Familiar with Avimark Software
- Familiar with vaccine protocols for cats and dogs
- Familiar with Heartworm/Flea preventions
- Able to obtain a patient history and perform low stress animal restraint
- Proficient in phlebotomy and IV catheter placement
- Proficient in endotracheal intubation
- Experience with digital radiographs
- Experience with Dentals and Dental radiographs
- Anesthesia monitoring knowledge
- Knowledge of in-house laboratory testing (Idexx): hemtology, urinalysis, chemistry, snap tests
- Knowledge of cytology (ear, skin) and fecal flotation and direct smear
- Reception or phone scheduling experience using Veterinary Software.
- Possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a small team as well as work independently when needed
- Help with day-to-day hospital flow and efficiency
- Responsible for some reception duties such as triaging phone calls, making appointments, intake and discharging patients
- Previous experience preferred and preference given to licensed technicians.

- Part Time to Full-Time Hours, Open M-F 8 am-5pm (not currently open on weekends)
