League One Volleyball (LOVB) is reimagining women's sports. Launched in 2019, our company is a mission-led sports performance, training and media enterprise that will change the game of volleyball in the USA and empower new generations of female athletes.
It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands and media.
LOVB will capture this opportunity by creating a strong club business and from that built-in audience and fandom create the best Pro League in the world and use a digital media platform that will connect all aspects of LOVB. This community-up approach will drive participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women living this amazing sport. This position reports to the Director of Merchandising.
The Role:
LOVB seeks to add a Merchandise Operations Manager for its Pro division who will support the product/merchandise workstreams at LOVB and will manage key partnerships including apparel distributor and global apparel partner(s).
- Create/optimize multiple GTM calendars from internal and external partners.
- Manage work streams for 3PL implementation, inventory management, and logistics.
- Manage calendar and day to day key deliverables including 3rd party retail pop up shop supplier, global apparel partner, national distributor, 3PL and integrating LOVB current technology (i.e. SquareSpace, Shopify and NetSuite).
- Build retail work streams/SOP plan for all merchandise across Pro venues, Club Shops and Club Tournaments to maximize profit, efficiency and consumer experience that enable us to scale.
- Establish SOP and implement how LOVB will distribute merchandise to owned Youth Clubs.
- Support implementation of GTM plans across LOVB.com and select distribution partners.
Qualifications:
- You must have a minimum of 5+ years prior experience in merchandising operations and/or hands on product development experience centered around calendars and processes, preferably in sports or outdoors.
- You must fully understand apparel, accessory and/or footwear merchandising and product creation, from initial concept through end consumer feedback post purchases,
- Retail experience and inventory management knowledge.
- Ability to summarize and communicate complex and detailed calendars/work streams in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize the most important projects and deliverables first while managing competing priorities.
- Excellent data and project management skills with the ability to pull together information from multiple systems/partners, data streams to create coherent and responsive plans.
- Knowledge of trends in fashion merchandising, POS management, consumer purchasing habits/behaviors, etc. preferred.
- Prior work in early stage, startup environment preferred.
- Prior experience working with SquareSpace, Shopify and/or NetSuite preferred.
- E-commerce experience preferred.

Location:
- Flexibility to work anywhere in the US, with willingness to travel for regular offsites and other business-related destinations. Preference for a candidate in the Pacific Northwest.
- There is 10-20% travel for this position.

The annual base salary for this role is $80,000-90,000, plus our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level, among other things.
