A Behavior Coach is a 1 on 1 therapist, that means that you get to work directly with children to create lasting impact on their lives and build them a better future.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1-on-1 ABA therapy to clients in home, school, community, and center settings
- Teach skills like better communication, social interaction, and daily living skills to children with autism
- Work under a Master level therapist who will provide training plans for each child
- Collect accurate data and implement programs and protocols
- Maintain open communication regarding cases with program supervisors
- Check and maintain schedule on scheduling software
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field preferred
- Energetic and enthusiastic about working with children
- Access to reliable transportation and valid Driver's License
- Current automobile insurance and TB Clearance
- Criminal background clearance through the State DOJ and FBI
- Willingness to work with children that engage in severe problem behaviors including but not limited to punching, kicking, biting, throwing objects, spitting, peeing and scratching.
- In addition, the job requires a full range of body motion including the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, reach, run, push and pull when responding to student challenging behaviors, eye/hand coordination, and the ability to lift students weighing 50 pounds, using proper body mechanics. The position also requires repetitive movements of the wrists, hand and/or fingers, the ability to receive and express detailed information through oral communication, visual acuity, and the ability to read and understand written directions.
