The US division of this global company is growing quickly in Emergency Tunnel Ventilation & smoke extract buildings applications.
Main Purpose of Role:
Woods Air Movement are actively recruiting for a Sourcing & Logistics Co-Ordinator. This role is critical to supporting our growth ambitions. A key focus will be the development & implementation of a US based sourcing to achieve Buy America requirement and international supply chain, day to day procurement & logistics for the new Woods facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The successful candidate will take responsibility of managing several commodities & services, locating new suppliers, completing supplier audits, requesting quotations and initial technical comparisons. Placing and expediting orders with the supply chain in line with project or forecasted demand requirement and arranging the timely delivery of items required from supply chain through to finished goods to the customer.
Reporting on the performance in line with the production schedule, working with the project managers to provide responses to customer enquiries in a timely and effective manner.
Main Duties & Responsibilities: - Sourcing & Procurement
- Take ownership for the development of Supply Base for selected commodities, identifying new suppliers to improve our service level to customers locally, reducing lead times to market, while maximizing cost savings to the business.
- Support the Solutions business sales team in providing accurate estimates of unique solutions.
- Manage and continue to review the existing suppliers to build on the relationships, conduct regular reviews and monitor performance.
- Make preliminary comparisons of the technical commercial offers received from suppliers.
- Ensure that all plans support the operational targets and the overall Business objectives e.g. Inventory/lead-times/sales/cashflow.
- Work closely with Functional teams (USA & UK) to integrate procurement strategies, procedures and processes.
- To support the existing projects teams in the day-to-day operations of the business, reviewing demand requirements, placing purchase orders and expediting with the supply chain.
- Ensure that all non-conformance issues and accounts invoices are dealt with in a timely manner.
- To ensure the provision of accurate data related to Supplier Performance and the maintenance of appropriate records associated with negotiations, savings, price increases, samples etc. all in accordance with internal procedures. Including updating Microsoft AX Dynamics system.
Logistics: -
- Management of the logistics inbound and outbound shipments from facility. Liaising directly with the logistic partners to arrange collections and deliveries.
- Working closely with the supply chain and production team to ensure component parts are received just in time, utilizing the most commercial cost beneficial solutions.
- Periodically review the existing logistic partners to minimize cost to the business, whilst improving our flexibility and OTD to our customers.
- Monitor actual performance and hold regular reviews with the logistics partner.
- Supporting the improvement of OTD and service levels to drive customer satisfaction and generate value.

Person Specification/Profile:
- Good communication skills, both internal and with local and overseas suppliers.
- Understanding, and where possible experienced in the use of, purchasing tools & techniques.
- Purchasing and supply chain experience.
- Understanding of Inventory Control processes using MRP systems.
- Experience of working in a Lean environment.
- A proactive, enthusiastic team player able to resolve issues to completion.
- Well organized, capable of working on own initiative, self-starting.
- Good judgment, planning & prioritization skills.
- Innovative, enquiring & challenging character and thought processes.
