Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Reports To: Chief Engineer
Job Description
The candidate is responsible for design, development, optimization, and sustainment of avionic products. Some products contain radio frequency technology allowing for air-to air communication and ground-to-air communication. Products can vary from vintage to new, analog to digital to hybrid circuits, and electronic systems found in many US military platforms. This position requires a sound ability to analyze circuitry, devise test procedures, capture and analyze quantitative data with the goal of rendering solutions that drive improvements in product reliability, performance, and cost. The Engineer must be able demonstrate a good balance of theoretical and practical approaches. Individual must be familiar with using test measurement equipment to troubleshoot and provide technical support to shop personnel and customers. Ability to collaborate with other engineers and electronic repair technicians is highly desirable.
Core Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Demonstrated ability to problem solving using a data-driven approach to electronics, such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodologies.
- Provide technical support to shop personnel and customers.
- Define alternate solutions for obsolete and diminishing materials.
- Evaluate new technology and opportunities for new business.
- Reverse engineer product to determine design intent while providing a forward moving initiative to regenerate the new product in a timely fashion.
- Determine causality and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on critical parameters and determine their effects on avionics equipment.
- Support root cause analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, reliability analysis for product improvement.
- Support or drive Source Approval Requests activity as required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer, Avionics Engineer, or Electronic Engineering
- Must have a good understanding of material sciences and those used in manufacturing of electronic components.
- Sound fundamentals in component engineering and circuit design; analytical yet practical.
- Must be able to work in a team environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of electrical design tools such as Keysight Advanced RF Design Systems, PSpice Analog & Digital circuit analysis, APL or MATLAB and PCB schematic, layout & Gerber editors
- Proficiency in LabView test equipment automation standard and being able to interpret and modify previous code as designed by predecessors.
- Possess intimate knowledge of Radio Frequency bands and spectrums, what they are used for, the different modulation types applied and subsequent receiver & transmitter path margins.
- Familiarity with coding skills to automate component, circuit and system level testing using various USB & IEEE controlled test equipment.
- Knowledge of ARINC 429, 629, 664, MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-485 protocols
- Must be able to interpret Engineering Drawings, Schematics, Specifications & Standards
- Experience in working with network and spectrum analyzers, digital oscilloscopes, signal generators, pulse modulators, power meters and other measurement equipment.
- Fluent in English, verbal and written.
Education/Experience/Other Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited U.S. institution
- Trade School certification, such as electronic engineering technology considered.
- U.S. Citizen
- Drug screening required.
