Front Desk Medical Receptionist
Katy Rheumatology and Associates is hiring a front desk medical receptionist, to join our team of professionals.
We are a busy medical office in the Katy area seeking a Medical Receptionist. Ideal candidate will have experience in patient care or healthcare administration scheduling appointments, expediting clinic flow, and providing direct customer service to patients.
This is a full-time or Part time position, Monday-Friday.
Bilingual is REQUIRED. Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT is preferred.
Job Requirements
- Has excellent communication skills
- Update and revise all demographic, financial and insurance information as necessary to maintain an accurate patient account. Collect co-payments as appropriate. Responsible for Cash Handling.
- Receive multiple telephone calls from internal/external customers, direct calls appropriately in an expedient, courteous and friendly manner. Take accurate and complete messages.
- Effectively participates in planning and preparing for patient visits ensuring appropriate schedules, test results, and clinic specific requirements are available.
- Prepares and stocks rooms (daily/weekly) and clinic supplies in advance of clinic visit as well as cleaning rooms appropriately between patients.
- Schedules patients for follow up appointments or referrals and performs routine clerical duties for team and staff to include photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Keeps patients informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.
- Collaborate with clinic management to maintain physician templates to ensure that the waiting times by physician and patient are kept to a minimum.
- Manage, monitor, and facilitate complete of the patient scheduling process to ensure optimal efficiency in clinic operations. Responsible for monitoring and expediting clinic flow.
- Performs telephone messaging and in person screening with appropriate follow up.
- Responsible for the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times. Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain a highly professional and positive attitude. Utilize time in an efficient manner by completing duties as prescribed by due dates or patient's needs. Demonstrate initiative and seek out additional tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
