Summary/Function:
Responsible for the design, installation, monitoring, maintenance and performance tuning of all databases and database server instances to ensure high levels of data availability. Oversee database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and accompanying software. Implement security and access protocols in compliance with company policies.

Experience and Skills:
Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, business technology and/or minimum 3+ years equivalent work experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
- Experience with SQL Server version 2000 - current; at least two years of experience with SQL programming.
- Experience with cloud services (Microsoft Azure, AWS); MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
- Familiar with Agile work principles.
- Satisfactory written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of data modeling principles and optimization based on solution requirements and performance expectations.
- Understanding of software and database development life cycle concepts.
- Awareness of information sensitivity regulations and best-practices regarding data security and confidentiality.
- Ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team to accomplish work responsibilities and objectives, with an attention to detail accuracy.
Duties:
- Responsible for building and maintaining database systems in support of a wide range of business and technology use-cases.
- Develop, implement, enforce, and oversee database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and accompanying software.
- Help design, build, install and maintain database technologies both on-premises and cloud-based.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of extended database technology roadmaps.
- Develop and implement cloud-based strategies for warehouse implementation; data acquisition and archive recovery to ensure data is protected according to department policies and procedures.
- Review, evaluate, design, implement and maintain company databases and server instances to ensure production and development requirements are met.
- Familiarity with TSQL code used for database access, modifications and construction including stored procedures.
- Implement data models and database design, data access and table maintenance codes.
- Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
- Define and apply a database maintenance roadmap to ensure upgrade and patch rotations are timely and current.

The potential pay range for this role is $70,000-$80,000. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate. Additional incentive compensation may be earned based on performance.
