Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Senior DevOps Engineer (Program: Data Modernization) to support projects within the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The Technology Specialist will, under managerial review, act as a consultant, technical expert, system architect, or senior project manager for Information Systems and may manage a very large and complex database environment.
The position will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and is initially funded through 6/30/24 with strong potential for Long term extension.

Job Duties:
- Help build, monitor, and lead the implementation of new and ongoing DevOps and automation pipelines within the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
- Work across product lines and cross functional teams with focus on enhancing efficiency, reliability and security of the software, data products, deployment, and delivery processes.
- Develop, maintain, and oversee deployments in cloud and hybrid-cloud environments (Azure Cloud).
- Enhance observability practices in-use and help build tools for better monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Act as DevOps Subject Matter Expert (SME) and drive adoption in the areas of containers, CI/CD, IaC and cloud automation.
- Facilitate training sessions for program and IT staff on using and effectively managing the pipelines. Foster DevOps adoption within the department and participate in DevOps focused guild activities.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience working as a DevOps Engineer or SRE.
- Experience in usage of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
- Hands on experience working in cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) including provisioning and managing resources using tools like Azure Bicep or CloudFormation.
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and using related tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet) in a production setting.
- Proficient in scripting (e.g., Python, bash, PowerShell). Proficient in Linux for administration and troubleshooting tasks.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field with six (6) years of experience performing progressively responsible information technology functions, one (1) year of which must include planning, designing, implementing, and administering of server-based, scalable databases.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working with and as part of agile based deliveries and teams.
- Experience working with orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes, Airflow, etc
