As a Physical Therapy Assistant in our office, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced chiropractors and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality and personalized care to our patients.
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy techniques and exercises
- Ability to assist with patient assessments and treatment plans under the direction of a chiropractor
- Proficiency in implementing therapeutic modalities such as heat/cold therapy and electrical stimulation
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and office staff
- Ability to educate patients on exercises, home care routines, and injury prevention techniques
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common musculoskeletal conditions
- Proficient in documenting patient progress and treatment notes accurately (Chirotouch preferably)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow treatment protocols
- Empathy and patience in working with patients experiencing pain or discomfort
- Strong organizational skills to manage patient appointments and treatment schedules if needed
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines
- CPR certification and basic first-aid knowledge
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Responsibilities:
- Assist the chiropractor in conducting patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic modalities and exercises as prescribed by the chiropractor.
- Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, home care routines, and injury prevention strategies.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including subjective reports and objective measurements.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility exercises.
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, including equipment and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and office staff regarding patient care and scheduling.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide support to the chiropractor during patient treatments and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance physical therapy and chiropractic care knowledge and skills.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe treatment environment for patients and staff.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
- A minimum of an Associate degree in Physical Therapy is required
