Immediate Supervisor: Guest Services Supervisor
Major Functions: Assists our guests efficiently, courteously and professionally in all Guest Services related functions. Maintains high standards of service and hospitality.
Essential Functions:
- Greets and registers guests and provides room assignments, accommodating special request whenever possible. Assists in pre-registration and blocking of reservations. Prepares for group arrivals and departures. Able to stand for 8 consecutive hours.
- Handles guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and in a friendly and professional manner, using the service basics as outlined in the Guest Service Pledge.
- Has a thorough working knowledge of the reservation system and procedures, takes reservations and knows cancellation procedures and policies.
- Resolves guest challenges and takes appropriate action to ensure 100% guest satisfaction. Communicates with next shift associates by logging pertinent information in the appropriate logbook.
- Processes customer payments according to established procedures and policies, including authorization of all credit cards. Balances credit cards and payments. Ensures that all cash, check, credit card, and miscellaneous departments are in balance at the end of each shift utilizing proper cash handling procedures.
- Ensures all charges are posted on guest folios through operating system, collects payment and makes change for hotel guests following all cash handling procedures as required. Performs bucket checks twice daily.
- Provides coverage for AYS as needed using proper telephone etiquette, and puts in wake up calls for guests upon request.
- Notifies housekeeping of any special requests, late check-outs, special needs, or any discrepancies.
- Receives and transmits mail, packages, and messages for guests.
- Assists guests with general services such as check cashing, making change, and answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel to local areas of interest - provides directions.
- Has thorough knowledge of hotel property, hotel staff, and hotel services with hours of operation, room locations, types of rooms and room selling strategies, hotel rates and discounts.
- Attends to special service requests from guests including securing of valuables and ordering complimentary amenities.
- Conducts ongoing communication with associates on the two-way radio system, and responds to calls as needed.
- Has a thorough knowledge of emergency and life safety procedures, and follows all key control procedures.
- Provides the highest quality of service to guests at all times and practices each item in the Guest Service Pledge.
- Wears proper uniform and name tag at all times in accordance with the standards of personal appearance guidelines in the handbook.
- Performs all other duties deemed necessary by management.'
