The X-Ray technologist is responsible for reviewing orders, the reason for exam, position, and imaging of patients. Operates diagnostic image equipment to obtain routine radiographs of designated body part for interpretation by physicians. Performs a variety of technical procedures.
Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the procedure, transferring and positioning patients, attaching or arranging immobilization and support devices, instructing, and reassuring patients using care.
Provides accurate diagnostic image identification, processes diagnostic images, and monitors image quality.
Documents procedure verification using a computerized system.
Collects all completed diagnostic PACS images and forwards them to the appropriate location for interpretation and results reporting.
Applicant must be ARRT Certified or eligible to sit for certification exam within 12 months of hire date. Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Radiology program is preferred, but not required with prior experience in a medical imaging department as a hired Radiologic Technologist.
