Starting Pay: $41.31 - $45.89/hr

Position Summary: The Grants Writer is responsible for supporting the writing and submission of LOIs, proposals, and reports. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grants Writer works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the overall strategy for grant proposals to foundations, government entities, and organizations. The Grants Writer persuasively communicates the facilities mission and program to establish community partnerships and engage potential and current funders. Additionally, the Grants Writer helps conduct research and manage relationships with foundation officers.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- Certification in grant writing from:
- Grantmakers coursework (Dorothy A. Johnson Center)
- American Grant Writers' Association certifications
- Grant Professional Association Next Level Grant Training
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing/reports development, including researching, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Box.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Uses stories, compelling writing, and salient data to communicate complex issues and programs.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, keep processes moving forward in a timely manner, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to resolve complex issues quickly and collaboratively with programs, finance, and operations.
- Collaborative work style combined with a high degree of personal accountability.
- Capable of creating and executing a plan; strong analytical and research skills.
- Strategic and creative thinking with a hunger to grow and learn personally and professionally.
- Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of the populations served.
- Ability to support the team in cultivating and maintaining relationships with potential and existing funders.
