The Event Consultant works with clients to plan and coordinate events that exceed their expectations. This position is client-centered and focused, involving proactive client service, detailed follow-up, and support regarding rental equipment and customer appointments. Characteristics of a successful Event Consultant include strong communication skills, sense of urgency, successful client focus and a positive and outgoing attitude.
Essential functions
- Maintain and grow a sales portfolio.
- Prepare and execute proposals and rental contracts.
- Assist with renting equipment or arrange for delivery of service to client locations.
- Consult with clients to understand the vision for their event then utilize the solutions provided by Classic Tents Inventory as well as partner resources to execute the client’s event.
- Consistently, urgently, and proactively communicates and follows up with external clients and internal teams to execute the event with excellence.
- Present contracts with pricing to clients and ensures payments are collected in a timely fashion
- Facilitate incoming leads with urgency to successfully bring to closing.
- Support sales team as well as other departments as needed .

Supervisory responsibilities:
- This position does not supervise staff.
Work environment:
- Most work will be indoors with limited exposure to outside elements.
- The job requires constant interaction with the public via phone, email and in person
- Will work in close proximity to other people, to include sharing an open office space.
- Work schedule is 8:30am-5:00pm and availability via phone for client needs on event evenings and/or weekends.
Physical demands:
- Mostly works in indoor/office environment.
- Needs to be able to do client site visits where appropriate
- May be required to lift occasionally and generally less than 10 lbs.
Required education and experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess sales and customer relations skills.
- Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel Advanced knowledge and experience is required. Training on rental software will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
- Ability to follow instructions and execute accordingly.
- Reliable and dependable with attendance, follow-up and follow through of client and manager requests.
Preferred education and experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Event knowledge and experience.
- Previous event coordination experience is a plus (weddings, festivals, etc.)

Travel required:
- Occasionally to and from job sites.
