Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Land Surveyor to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. As a leading firm in the region, we specialize in providing accurate and reliable surveying services for a variety of projects including land development, infrastructure construction, and environmental assessments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying principles and practices, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field surveys using advanced equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- Prepare and review survey data, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALT-A and construction staking.
- Analyze legal documents, property records, and other sources to determine property boundaries and rights-of-way.
- Provide expert testimony and documentation for boundary disputes or legal cases.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure accurate project specifications.
- Manage survey crews, including scheduling, training, and overseeing field operations.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, surveying standards, and safety protocols.
- Utilize CAD software and other digital tools to create maps, plats, and survey reports.
- Maintain survey equipment and tools in proper working condition.
Qualifications:
- Alabama Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in good standing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, with demonstrated expertise in boundary determination, construction layout, and topographic mapping.
- Proficiency in surveying software (e.g.,Carlson, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).
- Strong understanding of legal principles related to property boundaries and land surveying.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Pay: $86,799.00 - $91,724.00 per year
