Respond to calls and dispatch to Van/Para Transit Drivers for Senior Services; identifies and dispatches appropriately; gathers and relays critical information to appropriate staff; document calls, document and input all data to monthly reports to ensure compliance; complies data to assure accuracy of reports; ensure safety recordings of all incidents; and perform all other duties as assigned.

Answer incoming calls by telephone or radio and directs the caller to the appropriate person, and or relays a message.
Dispatches callers for service to available Van/Para Transit Drivers and services personnel.
Retrieves and distribute incoming mail.
Prioritizes calls for service and determines appropriate personnel to respond.
Interviews callers and gathers details on complaints; relays pertinent information to the Senior Program Coordinator or other staff; provides information and assistance to the public.
Tracks the location and activities of all Barrow Van/Para Transit drivers.
Prepares and processes all Barrow Van/Para Transit Drivers data into reports in compliance, ensures accuracy of all tracking of activities, monitors and maintains records of all data for reporting purposes.
Respect client confidentiality by recognizing their rights and maintaining confidentiality, including HIPAA requirements.
Protect self, co-workers and consumers by following policies and procedures to prevent the spread of blood borne and/or airborne diseases.
Greets and assist visitors; provides information within scope of authority.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of North Slope Borough policies and procedures.
Skill in using personal computers and a variety of software.
Skill in data entry and producing accurate reports, technical documents and correspondence.
Ability to speak and understand Inupiaq.
High school graduate or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.
One year of computer experience;
Must obtain and maintain technical certificates in emergency care and safety as required;
Applicant must pass a criminal history background check conducted by the State of Alaska Background check unit;
Documentation that the individual is free from active pulmonary tuberculosis;
Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications within the six month probationary period.
