We are seeking a full-time Patient Accounts Receivable Manager for our Revenue Cycle Team. The ideal candidate will have a very strong background in appeals and denial prevention for all managed care plans to include Medicare/Medicaid plans and a “will to win” attitude to work around collection roadblocks. We are seeking a candidate that can function in an interactive and fast-paced environment, all while providing dynamic customer service!
Responsibilities
- The duties of an AR Manager include direct supervision of all coding, insurance and patient collections, correspondence, and payment posting in a fast-paced goal-oriented collections department.
Understanding of insurance rules and requirements for effective collections.Providing customer service regarding collection issues and appeals, processing and reviewing account adjustments, resolving payment discrepancies and short payments, and processing patient and insurance refunds. Additionally responsible for assigning workload/accounts, making/assigning insurance and patient calls, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other relevant laws, account adjustments, small balance write off, patient reconciliations and processing credit memos.
- Strong appeal background
- Ability to drive A/R assignments within Practice Management (ModMed preferred)
- Convert paper EOBs to electronic ERA's
- Monitoring denial, productivity, and other key metrics for trends and reporting to the Director / Vice President of RCM key findings
- Identify inefficiencies and other issues and make proposed solutions for improvement
- Accountable for reducing Account delinquency
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to drive success within the Accounts Receivable Department
- Enlist the efforts of senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process
- Reconcile patient or insurance disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due
- Provide excellent & considerate customer service
- Interface with Internal and External customers
- Participate in team planning meetings
- Meet defined department goals and activity metrics
- All other duties as assigned
Required Education:
- High school or GED
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years insurance appeals experience (Required)
- 3+ years of leadership (Education may partially offset up to 2 years of leadership)
