CDMG has an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Piping Design Engineer to join our Canonsburg Engineering Team.
The Piping Design Engineer will be responsible for performing all types of design calculations and problem solving along with supervisory and administrative duties both on projects and within the department. In addition, responsibilities include using professional experience in consulting to prepare effective designs and supporting documents, confirming specifications and compliance to applicable codes, and accepted engineering practices. In addition, research advanced technology regarding best practices in the field and determines the most cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will also have a client focus approach and will work well independently and as part of the project team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Calculations and checking of calculations.
- Preparation of specifications.
- Problem solving as it relates to all types of field issues.
- Administrative and supervisory duties on projects of all sizes.
- Preparation and review of construction engineering estimates.
- Preparation of construction quantity estimates.
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A B.S. degree in Engineering with five years of related experience and competency. Must have knowledge and experience with design, layout and supporting of industrial piping/plumbing systems. Must have familiarity with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes, pipe fabrication and construction processes of all piping materials. Proficiency in Caesar II and other engineering design programs and P.E. registration is a plus.
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS
Competency in conducting meetings with groups comprised of both internal and external personnel. Significant contact with vendor, clients, and all levels of divisional management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Mostly inside work; however, travel and overtime may be necessary to both initiate and complete projects.
NEEDED ATTRIBUTES
A person at this level needs to focus on client service through job quality and problem solving. Persons at this level should also be flexible in job assignments, travel, and working schedules.
