Job Overview:
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Responsibilities:
The acute care Nurse Practitioner, in collaboration with the physicians and interdisciplinary team, is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating and evaluating patients in a critical care setting. Services provided by the NP includes: 1) assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of identified health needs; 2) ordering and interpretation of diagnostic and/or laboratory tests; 3) formulating, documenting, and monitoring treatment plans; 4) routine wound or post-operative dressing management; 5) ordering interdisciplinary consults; and 6) ordering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies and/or interventions.
This position will work 4 - 10 hour shifts, with weekends coverage
Qualifications:
Education
MSN-NP (Acute Care NP)
Certification/Licensure
RN in state of practice
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification
Experience
Two years' RN experience required, two years' Pediatric RN experience preferred
