As a Fertility Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to ensure compassionate and optimal patient care. You will assist doctors and patients through various tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. We are looking for enthusiastic go-getters, who are motivated to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Answer patient questions in person or on the phone
- Perform blood draws
- Provide patient call backs to update patients with changes to treatment plans
- Room patients and maintain cleanliness of exam rooms
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for physician(s)
- Enter the patient room with the physician during patient visits to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing electronic medical record applications
- Ensure medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation
- Update patient history, physical exams, and other pertinent health information
- Prepare and send all documentation to the physician for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures
- Monitor the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures
- Comply with hospital and medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA and Joint Commission
- Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned
Skills:
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in EMR software
- Degree in medical assistance
