Job Title: Field Technician

A. To accept and carry out responsibilities of this position. B. To be familiar with Cooperative's policies, rules, and regulations; and have general knowledge of utility operations, maintenance, and construction procedures. C. To be trained in safe, reliable procedures for work assignments.
D. To have thorough knowledge of Cooperative's ownership philosophy and principles.
Reports to Metering Supervisor; confers with Metering Supervisor, Member Accounts Supervisor, Operational Services Supervisor, Operations Superintendent, District Supervisor, Branch Office Supervisor, or Director of System Engineering.
A. Read meters on request from job orders to include single phase/three phase and voltage recording equipment. Set and remove meters (trained for OSHA 1910.269) and perform meter changes, including 3-phase. B. Collect monthly on delinquent accounts including agreements and returned checks. C. Operate Cooperative transportation equipment in safe manner and be familiar with Cooperative maps and routes. D. Complete job orders for security light repairs, connects, and disconnects and for transformer connects and disconnects that can be achieved via a ladder or an extendo stick. E. Investigate tamper situations, document, and contact appropriate authorities. Cut services loose at top of pole or house.

Be knowledgeable of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and perform routine inspections as prescribed by governing and regulating entities and the Cooperative.
G. Be knowledgeable of the Cooperative's Automated Meter Integration (AMI) system.
- Install and service/troubleshoot instrument rated metering and be knowledgeable of available and appropriate metering.
I. Advise and assist contracted service technicians on questions regarding job orders, metering, mapping, and service issues. J. Make daily check on tools and personal equipment and recommend replacement for same. K. Work overtime on request. L. Be familiar with Cooperative computer services and programs for customer activity. M. Be familiar with multimeters, load testers, and any other testing tools associated with the job. N. Maintains helpful and courteous relationship with general public, at all times, for purpose of promoting Cooperative's philosophy and good will among general public. O. Other duties, as assigned.

Competent and comfortable using laptop, tablets, and software associated with the job.

Working at heights usually not exceeding fifty (50) feet, primarily on wood poles, ladders, or in mechanical lifts. Periods of sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, and stooping.

Capacity to perform in extreme heat or cold, dust, fumes, chemicals, dampness, and possible loud noises.

Working in areas with conditions of unlevel surfaces, slippery surfaces, and uneven terrain.

Ability to carry weights averaging forty-five (45) pounds, not to exceed seventy (70) pounds, with pushing and pulling weights totaling as much as two hundred twenty (220) pounds.

Good physical condition, finger dexterity, vision (including color vision), ability to speak clearly, hearing, and ability to do close work.
