Overview: We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate submission of medical claims to insurance companies, and other third-party payers. Keeping records and bookkeeping of transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credentialing
- Submitting documents for authorization, and monitoring authorization timelines.
- Examining billing data to ensure accuracy and completeness before sending it to all insurance entities. Pursuing unpaid claims, which involves appeals and the collection of outstanding balances.
- Confirming insurance coverage and benefits, securing necessary authorization before claim submission.
- Performing procedures utilizing CPT codes and other relevant medical codes as necessary. Submitting claims electronically or via paper, using standard billing software or other applicable systems according to payer
- requirements.
- Maintaining precise records of billing and collection actions.
- Staying updated on changes in insurance regulations, coding criteria, and industry developments.
- Delivering outstanding customer service by addressing insurance company inquiries regarding billing and reimbursement.Qualifications
- 1 year of experience (required)
- Proven knowledge of ABA Therapy Billing
- HIPAA knowledge
- Proven experience as a Billing Specialist or similar role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
