Scope of Work
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Senior Contracts Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and executing contracts for our defense projects. This role requires a deep understanding of contract management principles, government procurement regulations, and the ability to negotiate favorable terms while mitigating risks.
Responsibilities
- All facets of contract file maintenance (drafting, organizing, maintaining, etc.) with minimal guidance.
- Supporting and enabling contract negotiations (scheduling meeting, creating meeting minutes, memorandums, etc.).
- Conducts preliminary reviews of contract action requests (new awards & modifications).
- Processes and develops contract action request packages (new awards & modifications).
- Supports and enables various types of internal and external meetings.
- Administers contracts from award through the point of contract close-out or termination; and
- Assesses and recommends to leadership findings relative to company compliance with contract clause-terms and conditions, price and delivery readjustments, excusable delays, claims arising out of contacts bid or performance activities, etc.
- Conduct contract briefings and trainings for internal stakeholders as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Supply Chain, Finance, Program Management, and technical teams to ensure contract requirements are met.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in business, or equivalent work experience in the Defense Industry.
- Minimum 5+ years direct experience with government contracting.
- Must possess a mastery understanding of the FAR/DFAR and how to efficiently research subjects in relation to complex acquisitions.
- Must be able to efficiently and effectively research applicable laws, regulations and policies that may arise across the entire life-cycle of a procurement, and propose alternative solutions with sound rationale to confronting unique contracting situations.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, multitask and coordinate activities across a range of functional areas.
- Must be able to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced work environment with strict deadlines.
- Familiarity with commercial item/service contracts, federal supply schedules, multiple award schedules, firm fixed price contracts, IDIQ contracts, time and material (T&M) contracts, and common issues that may arise with these contract vehicles.
- Excellent internal and external negotiation skills. Must interface effectively with internal management, and customer representatives including contracting officers and specialists.

- US Citizenship Required.
- Ability to identify problems or inefficiencies and independently offer/implement practical solutions.
- Experience with and General Services Administration (GSA) schedules program and multi-award schedule regulations.
- Prior experience with acquisition contracts.
Classification
- Position is full-time, Exempt
Position will be reporting to the Sr Contracts Director. We strongly prefer for this position to be on-site, but will consider a hybrid setting with regular onsite visits for the right person. Normal hours are Monday – Thursday, 7:00am-4:30pm and Friday, 7:00-12:00pm. Travel is not expected to be part of the regular duties for this position.
