Installation Technicians work with equipment related to residential and business communications on an all-fiber network.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Duties:
1. Prepare various types of cables
2. Install various types of splice closures
3. Field polish connectors
4. Competently operate a light source and power meter
5. Work with equipment such as telephone systems, routers, fax machines, internet-related equipment, set top boxes, wireless routers, and network switches and make sure all work properly
6. Troubleshoot to quickly correct problems as well as to maintain and inspect equipment before problems even arise
7. Ensure that all cables and cable accessories required for television, internet, and phone are working properly and are in good working condition
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Provide excellent customer service Prompt attendance to scheduled job sites
2. Obtaining and maintaining ALLO Communications required tool supply
3. Safe handling of all products
4. Accurate paperwork (time sheets, change orders, delivery tickets)
5. Provide an excellent customer experience
6. On-call rotations once trained to a competent level
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
1. Ability to learn and grasp new concepts on the job
2. Clean MVR to drive ALLO Communications vehicles
3. Ability to work evenings and weekends
COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
1. General Knowledge of Microsoft OS
2. Ability to logically work through problems in a logical manor
3. Understanding of email clients and how to configure them
4. Ability to run IP config, ping, trace and NS lookup
5. Experience in wire fishing and pulling
6. Able to identify version of windows, email client, and internet browser
7. Able to run speed test on Allophone speed test server
8. Knowledge and ability to work with power tools
9. Flexible, innovative and growth-oriented
10. Time management and organizational skills
