Job Description: Dispatch Assistant Leader (Evening Shift)
Hours: 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM
Overview: The Dispatch Assistant Leader will support the Dispatch Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the dispatch team. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can ensure efficient scheduling, effective communication, and high levels of service delivery. The Dispatch Assistant Leader will play a crucial role in maintaining operational excellence and supporting our growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Dispatch Manager in managing the evening operations (5 PM - 1 AM) of the dispatch team in a 24/7 environment.
- Ensure flawless, on-time performance for airline crews, utilizing a fleet of over 450 vehicles.
- Coordinate and manage the scheduling of drivers to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.
- Monitor and respond to real-time operational issues, providing solutions and support to drivers and clients.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities and driver performance.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in training and developing dispatch staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Address and resolve any client or driver issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Dispatch Manager and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics, transportation, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven supervisory experience in dispatching, call center, transportation, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and dispatch software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations is preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
