Job Summery:
As a School IT Technician, The main role is in ensuring that technology enhances the learning experience and supports the efficient operation of the school. Your dedication to providing reliable IT support and your proactive approach to problem-solving contribute to the success of students, teachers, and staff members in achieving their educational goal.
Specific Responsibilities
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Oversee classroom operations and daily functions, including regular review to classrooms. Ensure classrooms are presentable at all times and suitable for teaching.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on computers, laptops, tablets, printers, projectors, and other IT equipment used in classrooms, labs, and administrative offices. Ensure that all hardware is functioning properly and is up to date with necessary updates and patches
- Provide assistance and recommend solutions to department staff and faculty regarding the use of classroom technology.
- Provide training on use classroom technology; develop, maintain and update training materials for the classroom.
- Answer and respond to support calls and requests regarding use of and technical problems with audio or visual equipment in classrooms.
- Answer and respond to web/electronic mail requests for the placement of technology in classrooms.
- Manage class recording process and complete quality assurance checks.
- Coordinate repair of audio visual technology in classrooms to include notifying about temporary equipment outages.
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections on school equipment and machinery, such as cleaning and lubricating tools to prolong their lifespan and ensure optimal performance.
- Set up accounts for new users and assist with password resets.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Replace parts as required.
- Support the roll-out of new applications.
- Test and evaluate new technology.
Experience:
- Proven experience as an IT Technician or relevant position.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking, operating systems, computer hardware, technical support, Windows Server, help desk support, software troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with firewall configuration is a plus.
